I wanted something to share, something fun and personal. But how? Should we do a book? Add on to our website?
Let’s see…
1. We make photos that people like to look at
2. We live a relatively exciting life of travel
3. We have no shortage of “funny later” stories
4. I like to tell the tale
Then it hit me, “Of course! But no, it can’t be. Yes, it makes perfect sense …a Blog.”
Do people really read these things? Apparently so. Okay, I’m game.
The Rules:
1. Keep blog brief
2. Keep blog fun
3. Include all of our many great friends
4. Use bullet points when possible
This then is Blog Attempt Number 1:
We are lucky enough to have two homes, both in beautiful places and both so very different from one another. Currently in Italy, we are getting ready to start about 8 weeks of solid work. For us this means ski touring, trail running, mountain biking and spending time in unique mountain environments with old friends and friends to be.
Our neighbors Toni Gallob & Marianna Beltramini are proving great friends while Bulma the Dog has fast become Janine’s running partner. Meanwhile Tito Bertoni is our liason to all things in Brunico, and an amazing friend.
Living in Europe this year is a special time. America is at a crux and the world is watching. For me it has been a time to ask questions about these other cultures that I find myself in. Also, to look at my own culture and see what works, and what so obviously does not.
I suppose this blog will include all of this in its content; our friends, our fun, our photos and in case the occasional client checks in, our work.
But for now… fun. Last weekend we photographed the Sellaronda, a ski randonee race that circumnavigates the Sella Group in the Dolomites. Begining at 6pm, about 300 racers took off with giant headlamps on their heads. Ahead of them was about 3000+ meters of climbing in 46km with lots of fast descents on torch lined pistes. I was impressed.

After all the horse/boot photo shoots we’ve done and you didn’t stop and boot that sucker up. I’ll send you some boots and the next time you see him stop and boot him while in the spandex, roadie uniform.
